A transgender woman was struck in the head with a hammer during a vicious Queens attack that police are investigating as a hate crime, police sources said Thusday.
The 28-year-old victim was walking along 67th St. in Woodside about 6 a.m. Wednesday when a man crept up from behind and hit her in the head with a hammer.
“This is what you get for being gay,” the attacker screamed before running off, police sources said.
The victim was treated at Elmhurst Hospital.

The attacker remained at large Thursday. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force was investigating.
